The vision plans we accept
We are in-network providers for VSP (Vision Service Plan), EyeMed and Spectera. All three are accepted at all three of our offices, in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and San Jose.
If you are not sure which plan you have, it is usually printed on your vision card, and your employer's benefits page will name it. You can also call any of our offices and we can look it up with your name and date of birth.
What your plan usually covers
Vision plans differ because your employer chooses the coverage, so the details vary from patient to patient. Most plans include a comprehensive eye exam once every twelve months, help with the cost of frames and lenses, and usually the option to put that toward contact lenses instead. A contact lens fitting is often covered separately from the exam itself. Your copay, your allowance and how often you are eligible are all set by your particular plan, which is why we check your benefits before your visit rather than guessing.
What to bring
Bring your vision insurance card if you have one. If you cannot find it, we can usually locate your benefits with your name and date of birth. If your plan is through a spouse or a parent, we will need the policy holder's details as well.
If you do not have vision insurance
You are still welcome, and it does not complicate your visit. We will go over what your exam and any glasses or contact lenses will cost before anything is ordered, so nothing is a surprise at the counter.
